Mosaic Classes Q/A Information

Where can I find more detail online about the classes you have available and gallery policies?

What should I wear?
Mosaics are really messy! TLEE Gallery will provide you with an apron, but we suggest you don’t wear your favorite clothes, just in case.

What will I make and should I bring my own supplies?
TLEE Gallery provides beginner projects (like small photograph frames, canvas, or small wood projects) and intermediate projects (like bottles, birdhouses, large frames, and planters). Students select their own advanced projects. We also supply the materials you will use.

If I schedule time to come back to the studio to finish my project, may I store my piece at the studio in between working sessions?
Unfortunately, we don’t have room to store your piece and you’ll need to bring it home after every class. We suggest you bring a box to protect your project as you transport it.

Are you going to provide designs for us to use, or pre-draw designs on our projects?
We don’t design your piece for you, so come prepared to be creative. Drawing books and stencils are available, but we also suggest that you look online at mosaic pictures in advance.  You may find inspiration on Pinterest if you search “mosaic designs” and “mosaic picture frames.”

Does TLEE Gallery have a policy on reservations, refunds, cancellations, or late arrivals?
To reserve a class, the class fee must be paid in full. There are no refunds. A student may reschedule a class (depending on the availability of the gallery) if the student provides at least 48 hours’ notice to the gallery. The gallery reserves the right to retain the class fee and not to reschedule with a student that “no-shows” or provides less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation.  Classes begin and end promptly at the designated times. The end-time of a class will not be extended to accommodate a student’s late arrival. Students arriving more than 30 minutes late will forfeit their class fee and will not be permitted to join the class or reschedule to a different time.

What if I don’t want to take a lunch break during the seminar?
Beginner Seminar: the break time is needed to allow your project to dry before you begin the grouting process. Not allowing your project enough time to dry could cause your tiles to fall off as you rub the grout around. If you work through your lunch, you are very likely to have difficulty grouting. TLEE Gallery HIGHLY RECOMMENDS that you give your project time to dry. However, if you choose to work through your lunch in order to add 90 minutes to the class, there will be an additional $65 fee for the additional time in the studio.

Intermediate Seminar: you have the option to work through lunch and simply end your seminar early, as all studio time is devoted to the mosaic process. However, if you wish to work through lunch in order to add 90 minutes to the class, there will be an additional $65 fee for the additional time in the studio.
