Lotus Maestoso

Glass, Marbles, Beads on Balalaika

Maestoso is a musical movement that is intended to be performed in a majestic manner. I chose this name because of the majesty of the shapely balalaika (pronounced BAH-LUH-LIKE-UH), an instrument of Russian descent. This balalaika is made of stained glass, tiles, and marbles. The character on the back is Japanese for ‘happiness.’ It is part of a series of mosaic musical instruments called Glassical Music.

This balalaika is art and not intended for actual use.
