Inferno

This piece is inspired by Dante's 'Inferno' and my favorite quote "the path to paradise begins in hell." For me, this is meaningful outside the intended religious context. For me, it's more akin to not being able to know great joy without first knowing great sorrow. This quote inspires me to move past self doubt and disappointment and seek out joy and hope. This painting is acrylic, foam, crystal gesso, and molding paste on canvas, with a black metal floater frame.
